Mark Kline of Frederick Breathe Free Honored with Lauren Campbell Award at National Breathe Free Conference

National Breathe Free hosted its annual Breathe Free Conference from April 24 to 28, giving out several awards, including the Lauren Campbell Award to Mark Kline of Frederick Breathe Free.

"The Lauren Campbell Award honors those who exemplify excellence and compassion in their roles, and Mark Kline, a Physician Assistant at Frederick Breathe Free, embodies these qualities,” said Matt Ghanem, founder and chairman of National Breathe Free. “His unwavering dedication to patient care and his compassionate approach set a high standard for us all. Mark's remarkable contributions truly deserve this recognition."

Mark, a former Navy search and rescue instructor, discovered his passion for the medical field while serving at NAS Mayport. After his enlistment, he earned a Bachelor's in Biology from the University of Maryland and a Master's in Health Science with a PA certification from George Washington University in 1995. He trained in emergency medicine, trauma, and ICU at PG Hospital in Maryland and practiced for 17 years. As an Army reservist, Mark served in Iraq from 2003-2004 and 2007-2008, providing medical care to soldiers and civilians. He has also worked in urgent care, occupational medicine, and as a government contractor for the DoD and VA.

Other awards given out during the multi-day event included: Sierra Wuertz of Scottsdale Sinus and Allergy, who won the Integrity Award; George Yateem of National Breathe Free, who won the Gratitude Award; Roxanne Fritz of SoCal Burbank Breathe Free, who won the Max Effort Award; Shawn Byrnes of Marina Del Rey, who won the Rookie of the Year Award; Tia Tiebklang of Gulf Coast Breathe Free, who won the Heart and Hustle Award; Katie Scherer of Tampa Bay Breathe Free, who won the Above and Beyond Award; Daniel Costello of Frederick Breathe Free, who won the Extreme Ownership Award; James Gould of St. Louis Sinus Center, who won the Jack Matthew Award; Lynette Messerole of National Breathe Free, who won the Compassion Award; and Charles Rinaldo of National Breathe Free, who won the Commitment Award.
