Meet Dr. Jamie Oberman, MD, FACS
Board-Certified ENT Specialist Serving Frederick, Maryland and Surrounding Communities
Dr. Jamie Oberman, MD, FACS is a board-certified Otolaryngologist (ENT) with over two decades of experience treating patients with sinus, allergy, and ear, nose, and throat disorders. As a retired U.S. Navy medical officer and former professor of surgery, Dr. Oberman brings extensive training, leadership, and compassion to his role as the medical director at Frederick Breathe Free Sinus & Allergy Centers in Frederick, MD.
He earned his B.A. from Boston College and his medical degree (M.D.) from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, MA in 1996. He completed his internship and residency training in Pediatrics, General Surgery, and Otolaryngology at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, VA, where he developed a strong foundation in treating complex ENT conditions.
During his distinguished naval career, Dr. Oberman served as a staff Otolaryngologist in Okinawa, Japan, and Jacksonville, FL, where he was elected President of the Medical Staff and served as Communication in Healthcare Course Director. From 2012 to 2014, he served as the Otolaryngology Specialty Leader and Advisor to the U.S. Navy Surgeon General, overseeing all matters related to the ENT specialty and providing leadership to more than 80 ENT surgeons stationed around the world. His unique military experience includes training at the Naval Undersea Medical Institute and the Naval Diving and Salvage Training Center, with operational deployments aboard submarines. He was recognized as the U.S. Navy’s Undersea Medical Officer of the Year in 1999, a testament to his dedication and excellence.
He was honored as “Best of Otolaryngology” by Jacksonville Magazine in 2011 and later appointed as an Associate Professor of Surgery at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences.
After retiring from the Navy in 2017, Dr. Oberman joined the University of Pennsylvania-affiliated Becker ENT practice in Princeton, NJ, where he served as the inaugural Medical Director for Patient Experience at the Princeton Health System. In 2018, he moved closer to family and joined Frederick Health Medical Group, where he helped establish the health system’s first Otolaryngology department.
In 2022, he completed his Executive MBA from Quantic University in Washington, DC, further enhancing his leadership in patient-centered care.
Today, Dr. Oberman is proud to lead a compassionate team of ENT providers at Frederick Breathe Free Sinus & Allergy Center, where they offer high-quality, convenient, and comprehensive sinus and allergy treatment for patients in Frederick, Montgomery County, and the greater Central Maryland region. He is deeply committed to helping patients breathe easier, sleep better, and live more comfortably through state-of-the-art care and personalized treatment plans.
Dr. Oberman lives in Montgomery County, MD, with his wife, Dr. Margaret Ann Perusse Oberman, MD, MPH, FACP, and their three children.
